Workday Wizardry: A Brief Guide

From Idle Wizard Wiki

Most of us have jobs or school that prevent us from being in front of our PC at all times, so we cannot always be on top of our runs for Idle Wizard. That's okay! This guide is just a reference for new players and is FAR from the in depth breakdown of the classes in question, these are my thoughts and ideas for the way to adjust buildup cycles and bursting on a daily (if applicable for the class) basis and still gain profit.

So let's get started! This is my guide for the busy Wizard!

The Classes

Apprentice (aka absolutely new!)

Apprentice. Wow it has been a long time but the bonus here is that the options for Apprentice are pretty easy to break down into a work day schedule.

1. Buildup

At the very start? Get your first scrolls and auto casts and set Magic Missile and Spell Focus to Reckless (Red). If you have more than two automatic casts available? Include some summons for the Autoclicks. You're more than likely going to switch to Druid or Demonologist fairly quickly so this isn't too relevant but if you're starting this game before a workday and can leave your PC running that's probably the easiest setup to do. If you can get to Ritual of Power you should probably be prepping for the class you're actually playing. If you're looking to unlock a new class? I'd recommend checking the requirements and doing the basic setup (MM and SF with summons) to get a leg up on leveling. You can also use Void Lure and Void Automaton to collect void entities.

As a note you can use any summon spell that generates Autoclicks I just put Manabeast in because it's the strongest for keeping spells charged and Primal because it's your second strongest summon. Use what you have!

This setup will buildup Ritual of Power while you're not at your computer. Early on you will not have 100% uptime on Ritual of Power and that's fine. this is just to buff till it's strong enough to carry you to extra mysteries or the next class you want to play while also earning Void Entities.

2. Burst

Simple, Magic Missle charged to max. The rest depends on your character level. Use the profit boosting spells you have access to.

  1. Gem Resonance is available basically from the moment you get your first spell scroll with a level requirement of 2 and is solid for early profit boosting.
  2. Magical Weapon is your next and should be paired with at least one summon or the pixie pet to get profits out of it unless you're actively clicking. Acquired at level 17.
  3. Empower. This can be a rough spell the first couple times you get to it. It's expensive for shards but well worth the time to charge. Acquired at level 28.
  4. Ritual of Power can feel like a waste but if you're here with Apprentice, you're probably building up to get a new class and some have crazy building requirements. As the only accumulated spell that Apprentice has access to I've already mentioned the buildup method.
