Challenges are a set of quests to accomplish with beneficial & sometimes unique rewards. Challenges are unlocked after completing Paragon Levels 1 & 2, found within the Journal ("J"). Challenges will then open in a new tab within the Journal. Each trial has a specific Requirement, unique Rules, an overarching Objective, and if completed will result in a Reward.

Description

Select a Challenge to view its conditions.

If the conditions are met, you're eligible to start a Challenge. When you start a new challenge, your current run will Exile, and you will begin the challenge run under the directed rules. When you complete the objectives, you'll be return to a normal game with your special reward.

You can cancel the Challenge at any time and return to normal game mode (losing all progress that you've made within the Challenge) through; the Homecoming button (which replaces the Exile) & through selecting a different challenge within the Journal ("J").
